Birdman
So guys. I just notice a small batch of brown algae. Phosphates are 0. Any ideals? This tank is about a month old. But my previous tank was 55 gallon and was well established. I did have to add a significant amount of water to fill up my 90 gallon. Any ideals? Muttley000
Got a pic? Maybe diatoms which is a normal thing for a new tank to go through.
Birdman
Yeah it exactly what it is. What there life cycle? My phosphates reactor came today. But will install once our forum fun time is over today
Muttley000
They feed off of silicates. If you are using RODI water they will cycle away on their own. You can try to vacuum them off. What does your phosphate measure? May be no need for the reactor, corals need some phosphate so you don't want to lower it to zero.
