hllywd
So the 210 is long gone. I'm mostly recovered from my back injury at the end of April ( I hope!) and it's time to get this show in the road. I'm hopeful I can have the tank moved in sometime in the next couple of weeks, but we'll see how that goes. I need to decide what kind of countertop I'm going to use, leaning toward casting my own concrete in place. I got the tile on the floor patched in, and did the wall today and will grout it in the morning, next up: cabinets along the wall! I wanted the 3D wavy wall panels I've seen different places, found the tile in Florida reasonable and had it shipped, I think it's looking pretty good! hllywd
I'm excited too. The back of that room was never really finished. I had a nice 120 sitting there with the intent of building cabinets across the back with an AV closet on the right hand side. Swapped the 120 for a 210 and never got things wrapped up, The room even got painted in the mean time, except behind the tank and a large cabinet that sat on the left hand side. I started this with a 57 gallon Deep Blue, and a little cube as holding tanks early this year. I hadn't decided on tank size, but knew I wanted a 3' or 4' tank to better fit our wall. Marineland had a special in March and I went to buy a 150DD and ended up with the 200... Sold the 210 and it went to a good home shortly after I hurt my back. I had hoped to be done before now, but the down time has allowed me to make some equipment upgrades, namely a couple Radions, Ecotech pumps, and new live rock. About the last thing I need for the tank is to upgrade my Eheim return pump, probably something external this time. I've got some vacation the next few weeks and we're not going anywhere so I think I can make some really good progress on this and some other projects I had planned for this summer! hllywd
Making some progress! Need to finish the face frame for the tank cabinet and fix some leveling issues, but I'm going to be at a point where my concrete supplies for the countertop hold me up a few days. All in all I think it's coming together nicely!

hllywd
I'm hoping to have the counter done and installed in a couple weeks. Then have everything organized, plumbed and ready for water mid to late September.

hllywd
I started my holding tanks at the end of January without having decided on what tank to change to, or even keep the old one, it has evolved! I've only really worked on it for a couple weeks and a couple other things I HAVE to do this month are going to get in the way! hllywd
Almost ready for the countertop! I ran a piece of 3" thin wall PVC as a wire chase, already ran my Bose cables through it and hooked the stereo back up. AV closet built, and door installed and it works super with the IR remotes. Apex is going to be mounted in the alcove on the side of the closet with all the wiring hidden in the closet. Should have done this years ago... salt bucket for size reference! hllywd
RO soak after a couple months of bleach. Maybe 40lbs of new stuff in there too. Need to get some new DI resin and new carbon block for my filter and I'll make some salt water next week. That's a 60 gallon tub. crimsonvice

Muttley000
Forms? Are you pouring??
hllywd
Yes. Quuckcrete coutertop mix with some pigments from Concrete Exchange, then polishing. Not too fancy, I've poured in place, but I think this will be nicer.
