Nanoreef13
So I was sitting there thinking I wonder what everybody else puts in their tank so let's see it what do you guys use to keep your tanks beautiful and healthy?
jeff70
I put in top off water twice daily ( this should stop is my son gave me his left over auto top off, and now I have an apex that I can look it into) kalk wasser slow drip twice daily (hopefully this will also go into my auto top off Reservoir) iodine twice a week Strontium once a week(have no idea why but wife wants me to ) supplemetal calcium as needed usually once a week depending on levels. I have no idea what idine level I have but i've been doing it a LONG time. but this will probably all change now that I have an apex and can control all kinds of things except actually having more hours in the day what does everyone think????? Nanoreef13
I would test for your iodine because you don't want to over do that. I hope you get all your stuff hooked up to your apex soon I just hooked up everything to mine and I love it! Other than that it sounds good. cheap reefer
I dont dose anything...my thought is...keep up with water changes and use high qualty salt and you dont need to dose...ive had my water tested by a professional and all my parameters are good enough to grow anything...i try to focus more on light and feeding. Cheap reefer how often do you do water changes? What size tank and how much do you swap out during water changes.
Tonya
I dose Alk and Ca in my smaller tank(45 gal)and Alk only in my larger tank, 90 gal. Still learning my larger tank.

Clint526
A tsp of kent marine buffer with every 5 gallon WC every 2-3 weeks and about 15ml of bacteria. lol
XBoxxyX
15g WC weekly on 90 ish gallons Few drops of phytoplankton daily 1 ml amino acid weekly "colors have brightened since dosing"
tjh9100
Rare water changes usually around 18 gallons. Randomly add kalkwasser to my ato tank may be once a month. Also will dose magnesium and reef fusion 2 part about once or twice month.
crimsonvice
I am dosing BIonic alk, cal, mag.
castlet67
I started to dose kalkwaser and then added buffer to raise ph,little did I know ,my dkh went through the roof.sabed the aquarium with major water change and realised when dosing, you dose equal parts( I've been told) so dose calcium and alk equally right? And in my kit ,nothing is labeled alk. Is the alk sodium bicarbonate? Or kalkwaser? The only other container was magnesium which I get. I chased numbers, learned my lesson, now just want stable calcium and alk as the corals grow
Ducklady Amy
This has been a crazy year in my house. My tank has been so neglected it's not funny, yet somehow it looks very well. Blue moon water changes and don't dose. Can't remember the last time I tested. I have coral growing I forgot I even had. jeff70, Clint526 and zachegg
watdachuck
Calcium reactor only. No dosing.
Flounder
Reading this thread shows the value of water changes. Doing WC's keeps my Calcium up between 450-460 but dose Magnesium as it is lower. bi-weekly marine buffer if needed.
Muttley000
I actually am dosing ATI essentials now. Only 20ml each is keeping me where I want to be
