Clint526
So I got offered this tank for my 125. It’s a 4ft acrylic. The problem is, it’s got a crazy set up for plumbing. I have no idea what to do with it other than plug off most of the fittings. Help? If I could do something cool and plumb it how it was meant to be then I’d be all for it. jeff70
wow, I mean to tell you wow! there are a lot of bulkheads and that many check valves would be crazy. you can easily plug the bulkheads. if its a good price go for it.
Muttley000
It's set up for a closed loop, likely they were using an ocean motion to alternate flow out of different ports. If you aren't go that route just plug them.
buk
looks like it was drilled for closed loop. it's awesome for keeping water moving through your rock and pretty inconspicuous.
Clint526
He wants my 125 in trade, is it relatively easy and simple to set up the closed loop with all them fittings? I’d be into it if someone could tell me how. Lol
Muttley000
Looks like the bottom two were going to the pump intake. Pump puts water to this http://www.oceansmotions.com/product/6-way-110v/ each port from that gets plumbed to one of the bulkheads. A motor spins and sends water out of different ports. Pricey but awesome water movement. My big plywood build will use one Edited April 11, 2018 by Muttley000
Clint526
Holy cow, $549 for a pump?? No thanks. I do have a buddy that works at a machine shop that specializes in hydraulics. Maybe I could get something cheaper and better? Hmmmm

Someone could machine one if they knew what they were doing and how to seal the chambers from each other when it actuated.
Muttley000
Did the guy tell you how he had it plumbed up? That is just one idea out of an infinite number of ways

Joe
If you didn’t want to mess with it either, you could plush the holes with bulkhead fills.
