NoWaiAma
Didn’t have to cycle? Because used established water ? I’m already eyeballing a 45-

I’m already eyeballing a 45-70 When I go bigger, I take 1/2 the water (ish) and all the rock and sump. The rock/ sump is the key you have established bacteria so no cycle is needed. People using " live sand" don't really have a cycle either. when I set up my quarantine tank I took some foam out of sump and the tank is ready. (8 by 4 by 2 inch black foam.) established water doesn't matter its the bacteria you need. I just don't want to waist that much water. I'd take it all but with moving rocks the bottom of the tank water is pretty turbid. remember there are 1001 ways to do things you have to find what works for you. jeff70
as far as a skimmer goes: if it corrects green goopy stuff and doesn't put microbubbles into my tank its a good one. air stone driven ones are excellent as well, I'm thinking about putting an old school 4 footer on my new tank. NoWaiAma
Too soon to say. 1- first time owning one lol. 2- break in time. Hardware store in morning when off work to get a longer return tube so I don’t hear the water. Other than that after some adjusting it’s nearly silent.
