  1. I have no idea on what I will do as far as coral. I would like to fill the cave with something I think that would look neat it's only about 6 inches deep. I thought the top of the cave would be cool for little frags.
  2. Thanks! I made it out of dry rock and pond foam. Then took sand and crushed coral while the foam was drying and covered the foam.
  3. i am currently setting up a 220 gallon tank. it's taken me a little over a month to get to this point and wish I would of taken more pictures along the way. I upgraded from a 56 gal column style tank to this. I have a 75 gallon sump underneath the tank in a custom stand I am building. I added baffles to the sump and resealed it. sump has live rock and sand in it now and looking to add an algae scrubber or protien skimmer not sure yet on wich or maybe both. running a mag 18 from the sump back up to the display tank. I built a foam rock wall/ cave in between the two overflows. the lighting is still undecided at this point. not sure if I want to go diy leds or just buy led lights. right now I just have two 48" t12 aquarium bulbs over it. I added all the love rock from my previous build and fish to the tank after a couple weeks of running and leak testing everything. Going to run the tank fowler for awhile until I figure out my lighting situation then looking to get a good mix of corals.
  4. maybe I will just let him go then sounds like he may help out.
  5. thanks Jesse went back to get him out and he's gone. lol he must of seen it coming.
  6. bought dry and love rock over the weekend and found this guy crawling around my tank today.
  7. here is where the cracks areas and it looks like it would really just keep support on the two smaller glass walls.
  8. thanks for the help guys. may just see if I can get rid of it and go a little smaller and not have to deal with it. this would be only my second saltwater tank and may be a bit more than I can handle.
  9. it's cracked right before the center braces.
  10. picked up a dual overflow 220 gallon tank yesterday for a good price. I noticed it has a a couple cracks in the trim around the top. the people I bought it off said they used it like that and never had any problems. anyone ever replace the whole top trim or should o leave it be? scares me to fill it full and have it spring a leak. read some last night and a lot of people say they are just for looks and do not do anything structurally to support the tank. I attached a picture of the tank I took last night and I'll take some more later of the actual cracks.
  11. thanks for the help! I will get that guy outta there
