  1. Hey guys! Thought I would do a quick how to on installing a GHL PLM-PWC into your Profilux 4. This would be the same process for adding any additional expansion cards into your Profilux. With this expansion card, I will be able to control my Mitras via the Profilux interface, instead of accessing the Mitras directly. This will take 10-15 minutes and all you need is an Allen Key. First you will need to disconnect your Profilux and have your PLM_PWC expansion card nearby. Flip your P4 over, and unscrew the 4 screws in each of the corners. The lid will slide off, but make sure not to pull too hard because there is a wire connecting the illuminating GHL logo on the top. Remove the plastic cover of one of the two available expansion slots. Install the expansion card into the slot, making sure not to bend or damage the pins when putting it in place. Reassemble. Reconnect you P4, and.... DONE! Very simple process, and the Profilux automatically registers the addition of the expansion card. If you are using Mitras, you will need put them all in Slave mode because your Profilux now becomes the Master. The Profilux uses Illumination Channels 1-9 to control each individual channel. So if you had any of those in use already, you will have to move it to another illumination channel. I had my T5 and refugium lights already in use on channels 1 and 2, so I moved them to channels 10 and 11. For convenience I did label each of the channels to match the LED channel on the Mitras. Here is the list order: 1 Blue 2 Royal Blue 3 Cool White 4 Blue White 5 True Green 6 Hyper Red 7 Sky White 8 Ultraviolet 9 Hyperviolet
  2. Someone else compiled this, but I thought I would post this here in case anyone else would like to use it. They claim to have uses a Spectrometer to match the Ecotech AB+ program on the Mitras. I saved my previous settings, and have uploaded these new ones. I will give it some time and see if I notice a difference. It appears to limit the energy to certain LED channels and redistribute to others to match the spectrum. I have included screen shots to show the percentages. Link to settings.
  3. With the recent launch of the new Mitras LX 7x04 LED, we felt it would be a good opportunity to give you a close-up look at how we build and prepare our products. In this video we show how the Mitras LX LED boards are manufactured in our production facility in Germany. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LJg8lDC0zbU Did you know?GHL has been manufacturing and developing its products for 2 decades! From the beginning we've held true to our core values in believing that the aquarium industry deserves nothing less than the best. That's why to this day, we continue to oversee and control all major production processes to ensure your GHL product works safely and reliably for years to come. Our inspection processEach and every finished component undergoes rigorous testing and quality checks. We test our own boards and do our own QC checks. Even down to the inspection of each LED diode, we check it all. We do it because...We want to make sure that each and every product that leaves GHL HQ is tried and tested to perform reliably. While our competition may outsource these tasks, we do it all ourselves. That way, we can improve existing products and innovate new ideas and bring them to life without waiting on others to deliver.Want to learn more about GHL?Click here to learn more about our philosophy on quality assurance and the products we offer.
