  1. Tired of flooding your kitchen, garage, or bathroom?VIDEO: How to install the Flood Guardian from XP Aqua
  2. In doing research for my Salt Water Mixing Station I have been derailed a bit by making sure I don't dump high TDS water during the start up phase of the RO membrane into my DI resin. I also want to make sure my tank doesn't get overfilled and spill water. I may as well auto flush the membrane since I'm messing with it! In the end I guess I just want my tank to always have 0TDS water on hand without me having to mess with it! Spent some time talking with Russ @Buckeye Hydro about my ideas. Russ is very well informed about making water and his products, and was more than generous with his time! If you need help with anything RODI he is the man! @Joeasked in the other thread for diagrams so I made him one! This is the plan today, except Russ mentioned a tether switch instead of the two float switches. I am all for not drilling holes in my new tank so I am checking it out. I am still deciding on controls, may take an old Plc from something we are scrapping at work, or do an arduino. So let me know what you think, poke holes in it, you won't hurt my feelings. I only want to do this once!
  3. I have a 4 stage 60 GPD Kent Marie RO/DI unit for sale that I got as part of a tank purchase. I already have a RO/DI unit so I have no need for this unit. This unit includes the Hi-s RO membrane, a pressure gauge integrated to the RO housing, and a dual TDS meter (needs batteries). I tested the unit and it is in working order. I am asking $75 for the unit. I will include carbon and sediment filters for another $10. I am located in Columbus, Ohio. Let me know if you have any questions.

Also includes the return pump, refugium, filter media, bio reactor, and 55 led light programmable / controllable system that is 165w total. 6. If you don't have RO/DI unit or not into mixing your own salt water, I have Reef Crystals mixed to 1.025 Salinity made with 0 TDS water available. It is .99¢ per gallon. If you just want RO/DI water it is .39¢
  7. Happy Sunday all. Looking at one of my tanks today, I noticed a beautiful bloom of diatoms festering in addition to some hair and red slime. Topped off a few days ago without doing readings. I seem to be blowing through my Rodi membranes faster than I expected. Tap water today came in at 230! Filtered is coming in...err...out at 68. I am letting it sit and am adding Aquavitro's Alpha, which usually helps. I'm out of Prime. Parameters were pretty much in check prior to the top-off and lighting has been minimal and I raised the pH a tad. Normally, the tap water is around 185-195. Membranes are only about 3- 4 months old. Shame on me for being lazier than usual and bragging on how effortless my tanks are. Ugh! Guess I'm back to delivery, after I dump in some Chemiclean. Anyone else noticed recent spikes in our crappy (Toledo) uber-chlorinated water? If so, any ideas on how to combat this? How often do LFS's change their membranes? Just curious.
