marinelife
New to the group from Union Ohio. Just wanted to post up about my tank. Tank Specs: Acrylic 375 Reef Ready 96x30x30 – Set-up on February 25, 2007 Lighting: 120 3w LEDs, I am using Cree XP-G R5 Cool White LEDs and XR-E Royal Blue LEDs. 2 BoostLED Par 30 s with 3 red and 2 white LEDs. Circulation: I have two 6100 Tunze Stream Pumps, one on each side of the overflow connected to a controller. A Tunze WaveBox was purchased 12-25-2005 and used on my old system. My Return was an Iwaki 40RLXT but was replaced 10-6-2011 with a Panworld 50PX-X because the iwaki was 12 years old. A second wavebox was added to the tank on June 25 2007 to help with water movement. 2 Tunze Stream 6105s with the Tunze 7096 Controller added March 18, 2014. Filtration: The overflow goes to a series of 3 24 gallon sumps. The first one contains Cheato, another one is full of live rock. the last of the tanks contains baffles, auto topoff controller and the return area. Two of these tank has 2 500w heaters in it controlled by a Ranco Temp Controller. I have a fourth 24 gallon tank that has live rock and 2 starfish ( my daughter wanted) it is feed off the return line. I have about over 1000LBS of Live Rock and 2″ of Live Sand in the 375. The LS and LR have been in different tanks since 1995 so they are well matured. I have mixed sand, Some live and some not, all fine grain sand. I also used Nature’s Ocean Bio-Activ Live Reef Sand from Advance Aqua Tanks, This stuff works great. It makes up 50% or more of the sand in my tanks. It is cheaper than most Live Sand. My Live Rock is a mix of Premium Fiji, Pohnpei, Marshall Island, Caribbean, and Kaelini Tonga Ultra. I added a 10 gallon over the top refugium for pods. Its feed from the return and gravity feed it directly to the main tank. I added a Tunze 9430 Skimmer in November 2013 Extras: PRECISION MARINE 6 X 24 CALCIUM REACTOR W/EHIM PUMP. This is used to keep my CA, Mag, and ALK up. Additives: I use a CA Reactor for Calcium and Alkalinity. I feed two cubes of Mysis Shrimp once a day. I also have Cyclop-eeze that I feed a few times a month is I remember along with Nori Seaweed. I soak all the food in Selcon by American Marine Inc and Angelixir by Brightwell Aquatics. I also feed two sizes of Spectrum Thera+A Pellets. I used E.S.V Salt for my mix. Just changed back to Instant Ocean that I used for 11 years on my old 180 gallon tank. I try and I say try to change 90-100 gallons a month. I dose 300ml of Lanthanum chloride a day to remove phosphates. Critters: 1 Yellow Belly Hippo Tang (added March 2008) 3 Orange Clown Gobies (11-16-2012) 1 Regal Angel (added March/2008) 1 Hoeven’s Wrasse (9/21/2011) 1 Red Sea Emperor Angel (June/14/2007) 1 Yellow Tailed Angel (April/19/2008) 1 Flame Fin Tomini Tang (May/2007) 1 Coral Beauty (May/2007) 1 Male Orange Anthias (Lyretail) (added Feb/2008) 1 female Mandarin (Jan 7 2010) 1 Yellow Pyramid Butterfly (Dec 20 2010) 1 Female Unknown Lyretail Anthia (April/2008) 1 White-faced Tang (8-26-2012) 1 Yellow Pyramid Butterfly (8-26-2012) 1 Yellow Coris Wrasse Butterfly (12-13-2013) 1 Ruby Red Dragonet (12-13-2013) 1 Yellow Pyramid Butterfly (2-21-2012) 1 Black Pyramid Butterfly (May 14 2010) 1 Maculiceps Tang (Feb 11, 2014) 3 Yellow Pyramid Butterfly (Aug 2014) Acropora, Montipora and other SPS corals Josephoi

marinelife
I am not sure what the acropora's are. I got them years ago before the name game started. More were just sold as acro corals. I got a great picture of my tang with my phone the other day. I have attached it.

marinelife
Time for an update Alot of changes have taken place with this tank.I removed all live rock from my sumps and replaced them with MarinePure Ceramic Biomedia Plates. This caused a few fish to die for some reason. I think I released a disease from the rock. While I was super sad to have to bury several of my favorite fish this opened me up to do something I have always wanted to try. Here is my current fish list: 1 Yellow Belly Hippo Tang (added March 2008)3 Orange Clown Gobies (11-16-2012)1 Hoeven’s Wrasse (9/21/2011)1 Flame Fin Tomini Tang (May/2007)1 Coral Beauty (May/2007)1 Male Orange Anthias (Lyretail) (added Feb/2008)1 White-faced Tang (8-26-2012)1 Yellow Pyramid Butterfly (8-26-2012)1 Yellow Coris Wrasse Butterfly (12-13-2013)1 Ruby Red Dragonet (12-13-2013)1 Yellow Pyramid Butterfly (2-21-2012)1 Maculiceps Tang (Feb 11, 2014)3 Yellow Pyramid Butterfly (Aug 2014) I lost my Regal Angel, Emperor Angel, and Black Pyramid (zoster) Butterfly. I removed the Yellow Tailed Angel and he is happy in his new home at another reefer's house. My plan now is to add 2-3 Emperor Angels. I tried 2 already bit lost them to ich. QT is not working with them because I have ick in my main tank. I am working on building an accumulation box for the tank that will house the angels for a few months. My hope is to feed them ick-shield pellets and lots of vitamins to help them get thru any ick they get. I need their immune system to build up before I can release them in the display. I highly recommend MarinePure Ceramic Biomedia Plates, they are awesome at lowering ammonia and easy to clean around.

trickedout900
Thanks for the update. Sorry to hear about your loss. I lost my emperor and everything else a while back so I know the feeling. It sucks. Are you covering the plated in coral or just using them as the aquascape?
