surjer
With the shrimp now being gone do I need to add another source of ammonia or just hang tight? Gonna wait a bit longer before adding any livestock just to make sure these parametrs stabilize. Will head up to JP at that point and grab pics. Muttley000
You should not need to add more now. Your chart is excellent, how did you make that?
surjer
It’s an app on the app store called Aqaurimate. It was 9.99 but lets me punch in all my details and I setup a maintenance schedule that will send me notifications to do my water changes and test parameters n stuff. Obviously dont need the notifications now cause i’m still hot on it but figured it would be a good habit to stay sharp over the long haul. surjer
Day 15: I haven't tested the parameters today but I will this evening. The brown algae stuff is starting to spread. Time to add a cuc?
Muttley000
Probably so!

surjer
Not a big fan of this API test kit. It is rather difficult to judge the colors. Anyways, Here is the latest which I suppose means no live stock yet..

surjer
Brainstorming some idea's for corals. Muttley000
All pieces that have their place! It really comes down to what you want!
surjer
I still need to do a lot of research in designing this. Need to find pieces that fit all the different areas of the tank. Thankfully being the all in one there are PAR measurements that should roughly translate to my own tank. However, corals are a wayyyyys off for me. I want to make sure and do this right. surjer
Seems this tank is taking it's time in cycling. I am guessing the nitrates are going down instead of up due to the algae grow that is starting?
Muttley000
Probably, but curious why you are still measuring ammonia, are you adding ammonia?

Nope and the sheimp has long been expired and disentigrated.
Muttley000
What is your ammonia test and have you tested clean water change water? It should have dropped to zero a couple days after it started to go down
surjer
I’m using the API test kit which is kinda hard to read. Haven’t tested against clean salt water since i set the tank up.
Muttley000
Might be worth trying. I suspect that is a false positive test
surjer
Even if ammonia is actually 0 i still have to wait to add the 2 clowns until the nitrites come down right?
Muttley000
That is correct. Nitrites have taken a long time to go away on several of my cycles over the years!
surjer
Talking to others it’s been recomended i dont do any water changes until that happens. Do you agree?
