Thank you for watching! We're going to do another installment about reducing phosphate by testing with Hanna Checkers and using some TBD method(s) of phosphate control—it will be aimed at beginner/intermediate hobbyists so it will easy to take action on like this episode (hopefully) was.

Are you going to show how to use the phosphate packages without spilling it all over the place? This blew my mind once I figured out how to do it correctly! LOL

Is there an easier way than tapping the envelope on the corner to get the powder to settle away from the tear indicators?

That is only the half of it. I am talking about after that when you go to dump it in the vial. After you tear the along the indicated edge (both sides), you fold a crease from the sealed corner where the powder is, to the opposite open corner. This creates a funnel for the powder to slide in, and there is no spilled powder. I always tried to tear on the indicated edge, and tap the corner so the powder would go in the vial. It would create a huge mess.

Hopefully I explained that well. I can take pictures tonight to help show the process.

Oh that part was natural to me. I won’t go into detail about how I know but I came of age in the 80s so I got experience not spilling powdered substances lol. I’m sure you can fill in the blanks
