Sevitz5
Well for some reason, I’m starting to loose a few corals. It been almost a month since I moved everything over, and don’t know why I’m loosing some now. Params are good and stable. temp 78.5-79.0 salinity 1.026 alk 8.3-8.4 ca 435-440 PO4 .02 NO3 2-3 (I’m dosing to raise it to 10-15) In the last week I have lost my strawberry shortcake, a nice peach/green Millie, my red planet has some STN on it, 2 other colonies are getting algae on their tips. Muttley000
That is a bummer, hope you get it sorted out quickly. Did you have the pat meter to make sure light wasn’t significantly different? Sevitz5

Yes, I actually was a little lower on par cause I dialed them back a bit

Sevitz5
Well I haven’t posted lately, the tank wouldn’t stabilize for me and I lost a lot of my sps colonies. It’s very discouraging. I’m hoping to start rebuilding

I lost my colonies of Walt Disney, vivid confetti, orange passion, fox flame, Hyperberry, voodoo majick, paletta yellow tip, strawberry shortcake, P.C. rainbow, dream catcher, and a few others. This is the point most quit, but I’m not a quitter! I just wish I could figure out what’s up. Parameters seem stable, but I’m guessing something is happening since I went bare bottom in this tank. That’s the major change I made.
crimsonvice
When you are ready I can get you a frag of WD, OP, and PC Rainbow. Sevitz5

Sevitz5
Well things aren’t going good with the tank. I have lost almost all my acros. I have about 6 colonies I have managed to get out of the tank and into a QT tank. I found some pests on some of them (I have no clue where they came from, I dip everything and this tank was 90% new rock). I sent the video to Tim Herman, Craig Guglielmotto and and Craig sent it to a guy he knows. All of them said the pest isn’t an acro eater. I was tired of getting a million different responses on the Facebook groups. They all said since I had the corals in QT to just run them through a 6 week regimen just in case. They all believe something else is going on with stability since goni’s and everything else is thriving. I went pretty minimal on rock in the tank (100 lbs in 180 gal), and since it was all new in August, maybe I rushed it, even though LFS said it would be fine. To help this issue, I am adding a container of live rock in the fish room. My frag tank drain will empty into it (60gph) and the container will overflow back into the sump. I am putting a MJ 600 in the bottom of the container to keep good circulation going in it. This has to help with stability if that’s the issue. I am almost at a loss on this tank, my parameters are stable and good. This hobby can be so heartbreaking.
