Jon Fishman
I want my GSP to grow on the back glass, but they are already on 2 rocks..... is there a way to encourage that growth outside of fragging? I was considering just buying a new small piece and a magnetic frag-plug
Jesse
Some type of magnet would be a great idea. I’m not sure how else you would get it to stick and possibly grow onto the glass.
Jon Fishman
They sell magnetic frag plugs. Haven’t looked them up yet, but overheard a guy at the store talking about it...... My anti-social self didn’t bring myself to ask him where he got it. Edit. here https://www.aquacave.com/ocean-wonders-mag-disks-6-pcs.html are you worried about fragging these? if so, gsp has to be one of the easiest to frag. you could just wedge your rock against the grass and within about 2-3 weeks itll start growing on the glass
Joe
If it is “carpeting” pull some off and glue it to the glass. That’s what I did. Growing nicely. jeff70

Jon Fishman
Do I just physically rip the underlying redish-brown “body” off the rock?

Gently pull it up in spots until it comes free. Then cut what you have pulled loose with a razor blade.
Jon Fishman
Ok. bringing this back up, sorry. Not sure I want to pull off a piece..... I’d like to get a skinny frag rack that is magnet-attached and just glue my rocks to it and let them do their thing...... my concern is, once they grow over to the glass and cover the rack etc..... the magnets would be in the tank “permanently” so if they weren’t sealed properly it will cause problems. My GSP is on 2 rocks. One is the size of a golfball, the other is about 4 inches long and the thickness of a hotdog bun. Is putting both, glued to a frag rack permanently, a bad idea? Maybe I will just take my time and slowly peel it all off the rocks, but I’m hesitant about gluing to my back glass, as I have acrylic and once the glue is there it’s never coming off. Edit. Thinking this... 8x3 https://www.google.com/shopping/product/6129815853106531470?q=reefing+art+frag&tbs=vw:l,ss:44&prds=opd:1368203767765394339,num:4,cs:1 Edited May 29, 2019 by Jon Fishman
