That's the thing, I havent got my hands on those test kits yet. So it may be that.

Parameters are fine,and heavy calcium shouldn't be an issue. I believe your right with lighting. Place them low and out of the way. If there is to little light,they will stretch up toward the light. If that happens,then slowly move them closer. What type are they?  Some varieties love low light,others high light

The fact that your candy cane is improving supports that those numbers are acceptable. Do you have other zoas in the system?

No no other zoas. Heres a picture of them. The lights have been on for about 3 hours now
