So this happened today:

60 gallon RR tank. Going to be an observation grow out tank. Also will hold the frag rack so it’s not in the display. Going “simple” compared to my display. It will be located in a different room and plumbed into the main system more than likely.

Also gives me a place for zoas so the future regal angel won’t eat them.

lighting: 2x black box LEDs

return: cor-20

pump: jabeo cross wave

Dependent on when supplies get there I’ve got a few projects going on and items I’ll be awaiting into early next week:

 2x 165 watt black boxes (similar to what’s pictured)

1x jabeo cp-120 cross wave

1x Clarisea 500 filter roller

dozens of plumbing supplies

ill be stripping the sump kit out of the 20L for the most part and just leaving the overflow panels. The Clarisea filter roller will replace the filter socks. The drains from both tanks will feed into the filter roller and the back up overflow will feed into a 4” filter sock holder.

All the plumbing under the tank will be redone so I’ll have to isolate the display for upwards of 12 hours. The plan is next Friday to get the new tank 90% filled and running to match water parameters of the display. Saturday I’ll strip down the sump and redo all the plumbing. Give it some time to sit before running water through them. Then turn on the cor-15 pump to the display and get that running before turning on the cor-20 to the new tank.

plenty of pictures to come

Plenty of new additions coming in this week. Ultra indo acros, SC Orange Passion, wild Red Sea clowns. The 60 gallon is half filled while I make more water. Going to plumb everything together Tuesday or Wednesday and get it flowing. Since I wanted the tank mainly open I’m only doing a frag shelf along the sides of half the tank. All the zoas will be moved over to this tank as the regal angel will be introduced next weekend.

Tanks are currently running and sharing a sump. I’m using a cor-20 return pump and it’s only running at 20% pushing water 14 feet and I’m still getting over 250-300 gph. The UV is on hold until I get another 1/2” ball valve. It’s not sealing up correctly and has a slight drip. A third black box is on order but amazon has it expected to arrive late April.

The regal angel went into the display today. I haven’t noticed him eating in the QT tank and seemed a little stressed. No signs of additional treatment needed so I’m rolling the dice with this one. He’s already cruising the tank and picking at the rock and eating all the pineapple sponges so let’s hope for the best. Once I get the glas cleaned up I’ll do a video or some pictures of the tank now that I don’t have 20 frag plugs on the sand bed
