Mussin
What do you guys use on these? Good old thread tape or is there something better to use?
Muttley000
I’ve read so much about thread tape being too slippery and causing over-tightening that is switched to paste. I personally could still over-tighten with the paste and crack a fitting. I do feel like the paste is easier to use and I like that I don’t have to wind it on the right way though lol. Here is what I have been using from Menards, just make sure whatever you get is listed for potable water.
Fishoutofwater
You can still crack a fitting with liquid by over tightening it. That’s why I had to run to salty critter today. I’ve had a constant light drip that I couldn’t trace its origin completely I thought it was leaking around bulkhead seal. Nope I cracked the bulkhead threaded output and was seeping out of that. Fisher
I use teflon paste. I've read PVC-junkies throwing fights over tape being meant for metal fittings and paste is for non-metal, but I personally just found the paste more convenient.
