Do you add bacteria to your tank?

Recommended Posts

I've been fighting a bit of cyano during my most recent reboot of my tank. Rather than battle it with chemicals I've been dosing Brightwell Aquatics MicroBacter7. The thought is to fight the cyano in the tank with good bacteria.

What are your thoughts? Do you add bacteria to your tank? Have you in the past? What were your results?

I use micro7 all the time. My routine was after water changes but now that I have more dosing containers I’ll add it daily. I strongly believe a range of beneficial bacteria can really help tanks overcome algae issues and become balanced. I order the 2L bottles on Amazon to save on it.
