Trapboy6000
Just thought id share the experiment that I'm helping my little brother with for his science fair. The project will look at the affects of fresh vs. Salt water on the growth of black mangroves. So far this is the light holder we made out of 2" Pvc. I will keep this thread updated as the project progresses. ben

saltykid96
Might be a stupid question but can mangroves be completely submerged or do they have to be out of the water at least a little? Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk

Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk Not that im aware. As far as I know the end the leaves grow out of has to be above the water line for them to grow successfully, never actually tried to grow them submerge though. Trapboy6000
The light finally came, the guppies destined for the saltwater tank are finishing up there 4 day acclimation from fresh to salt. Now all that's left is for the mangrove seeds to arrive. ben

Trapboy6000
Sorry I havent updated in a while. The mangroves came in a few days ago as seedlings. They were randomly split 50:50 Between the fresh and saltwater. As of right now a few are dying of in the fresh and about half are dieing in the saltwater. It is still too early to tell if this is due to salt getting del. A bad hand or otherwise. I will continue updating a. Changes in growth happen.
